Its not just about building schools and providing access to internet, the whole story of education is empowering the students to become participants in the process of nation building using teachers and administrators as facilitators of their individual growth (eudaimonia) in Greek. Hanggang ngayon di pa rin ninyo tumbok yung problema ... We keep hearing empower education, increase our spending. That is foolish you cannot do that to an obsolete system. Our education is configured to the 2nd industrial revolution at best the 3rd. Rote learning is pervasive, it does not make sense. Its a batch type manufacturing process of the factory age; using typical quality practices of accept and reject. Hate to say it but the system is beyond repair, no amount of marginal improvement will correct the whole system of education. You can continously improve the cathode ray tube but in the era of internet TV all your efforts will be useless. Politicians and bureacrats claims statistical growth by improving teaching. Teaching is not always delivering learning and growth does not always mean progress. You can grow the cemetery but its imposible to demand progress, its for the dead. We need to keep it simple to a certain extent stupid. Education is always about two people, the mentor and the learner. Improving the process is the key. Anything on the peripherals can perhaps help but are not that effective. Our approach today is making education efficient, making an obsolete system efficient produces lots of waste. The first question to ask is, is it effective? Just look at the narratives on social media, and you will see the quality of reasoning. It is contributing to the growth of mass stupidity in our country that will hinder progress.
